As an additional component for the popular game series, I find the Allied Assault Patch highly essential. It is intended to fix problems in the original release of the game. Repairs are included for graphics engine issues, gameplay problems, and connection errors that were experienced by the first players of the game. In this patch, developers fixed the connection problem in which players in online mode experience errors when starting combats against other online players. Networking and data transmission problems were also fixed for the online mode of the game. Developers also fixed a, absurd gameplay issue where players don’t immediately die even after getting hit by a bomb. Most importantly though, developers were able to modify and enhance audio and graphics of the game. The fix proved effective as the game became even more real when it comes to visual effects and sounds. Different scenarios in the game have become even more dramatic because of these last modifications.

Pros

  • Online and Multiplayer modes are now better
  • Audio and graphics design also better

Cons

  • May not work with recent Windows OS

Glad to know that EA released a patch to fix some problems in the 3rd game of the Medal of Honor series. The game is very popular, so the release was a relief. Even an occasional player like me, finds the patch necessary. With it, data transmission is no longer a problem in the game especially for LAN gamers. The patch now makes it easier to communicate between teams. Along with transmission, of course, is networking capabilities. With the networking problems resolved in this patch, gameplay is now smoother. Game servers can now also process multiple IPs from a single computer and with the other two fixes mentioned earlier, the multiplayer mode is the direct recipients of these fixes. Now it’s more enjoyable to play with other players. Minor problems including game memory issues and navigation problems were fixed. Players will no longer be directed to the browser during an error, but be given the option to return to the main menu.

Pros

  • Available to be downloaded for free
  • Networking issues for Multiplayer mode were resolved

Cons

  • May not work properly with Windows 7

Medal of Honor is one of the most multi-awarded video games for PC that is available today. It would be such a waste not to enjoy the game at its best especially with its 3rd release, the Allied Assault. It’s a relief to know though, that the game has been fixed through the release of its patch with version number 1.11. The patch was able to fix a number of connection, data transmission, networking, and multiplayer mode problems. After installation, I was able to enjoy the full features of the game. I was able to use four different guns installations and new interactive war vehicles which included the M3 Half Track and M4 Sherman tank. I was also able to see the enemies’ vehicles which included the V2 Rockets, Stuka Dive Bombers, and Tiger Mark I Heavy Tank. The game also features environmental effects, squad and solo based play, and destructible locales. I was also able to confuse the enemy by disguising myself as one of them. I could put on their uniform to avoid capture. Lastly, the audio and musical score of Allied Assault is just dramatic, truly thought-provoking.

Pros

  • Features an improved multiplayer mode
  • Prevents networking and connection problems

Cons

  • Only available for Allied Assault edition

Medal of Honor Allied Assault is a fantastic combat shooting game with lots of action and intense gameplay, and good storyline as well. But let’s be honest, almost every game has its bugs and errors that makes the players get frustrated playing the game. That is why the developer of Medal of Honor Allied Assault released a patch to fix all those flaws. With this patch, I like that this game can now run even without a CD. Also, this patch fixed the multi-player network connection, I cannot say that the lagging issue is totally gone but it certainly lessen the lagging problem. Moreover, it also mends the bug with planting explosives in the game, when this scenario happens, you will no longer lose a team member anymore. Plus, this patch also modified the graphics. It is now more realistic and pleasant to the eye. All in all, this patch of Medal of Honor Allied Assault is a fantastic game add-on that made this shooting game more steady and solid. Go and update your game to have a better gaming experience.

Pros

  • It has a better graphics
  • It can run even without CD

Cons

  • It does not totally remove the lagging issue
